Yala or Udawalawe safari for seeing elephants?

We only have time for one safari. Our main goal is seeing elephants (leopards would be a bonus). Which park would you recommend, and is a half-day safari enough?

For elephants, Udawalawe is almost guaranteed and less crowded. Yala is better for leopards but jeeps can crowd around sightings. A morning half-day is enough for Udawalawe.

We did Udawalawe last week and saw over 50 elephants in 3 hours! Also visit the Elephant Transit Home feeding at noon.
