This page explains, in plain language, what information Lanka Mate collects and how we use it.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address, password (stored securely by our authentication provider — we never see it), display name and username.
• Optional profile details: country, short bio and contributor label, if you choose to add them.
• What you post: questions, answers, helpful votes and reports.
• Technical data: basic logs needed to run and protect the service, such as IP address and browser type.

What is public

Your display name, username, profile details, questions and answers are public. Your email address is never shown publicly. Reports you send are only visible to moderators.

How we use it

• To run your account and show your contributions.
• To send account emails, such as confirming your address or resetting your password.
• To show you in-app notifications about answers to your questions.
• To keep the community safe — preventing spam and reviewing reports.

We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Service providers

Lanka Mate is hosted on Vercel, and data is stored with Supabase (database and authentication). These providers process data on our behalf to run the service.

Your choices

You can edit your profile at any time in Settings. To delete your account and the personal data associated with it, contact us.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
