I keep hearing about kottu roti and I want to try a really good, local version rather than a tourist restaurant. Any recommendations in Colombo? Vegetarian options would be a bonus.

Look for small "hotels" (local eateries) in Wellawatte and Pettah in the evening - just follow the clanging sound of the kottu blades! Cheese kottu and egg kottu are vegetarian-friendly.
